Body Confidence – Get That Saturday Silver Sassy Style

I started taking part in a Saturday Style challenge, which means getting dressed up and taking a selfie and sharing it on Instagram with the Saturday Sassy Crew hosted by the lovely @sallysquiggles on Instagram, under the hashtag #SassySaturday.

Since starting my silver hair journey on instagram account, I have found a renewed sense of confidence and this picture shows it. For those people who know me, they know that I do not go for full body photos on Instagram. That is a definite – no, no!!

I have put on just over a stone of weight during lockdown and although I do not feel 100% comfortable in my body right now, I have learnt to accept all aspects of my body and hair through the changes it is going through.

As my body is ageing, I have noticed it has become more of a struggle to keep my slender waistline. I am sure there are plenty of exercises that I could be doing more of, in order to keep my tummy and waist in check, but because of my sciatica it makes it difficult to do anything too strenuous that could do more damage than good right now, so I have to take it easy and do a little bit at a time.

I am doing light exercise, walking I love along with yoga stretches and postures to help ease the pain and strengthen my back and it is working gradually. I have even lost a few pounds too, since I started my walk-a-mile a day challenge that I started at the beginning of August.

I have already lost a few pounds of weight and I will do a blog post about it soon, but for now I am happy that I am making steady progress.

Sharing this photo is another marker of how far I have come in my self-confidence and acceptance with my body image. I would never normally share a full body photo of myself, but somehow I feel so body confident and accepting of who I am as a person right now, that however my body feels and looks at this moment in time, is just where I am at.

Keep watching this space for more photos of my Sassy Saturday Silver Styles. Why don’t you take part in the challenge too?

Looking forward to seeing you on the grid soon – don’t forget to add the hashtag #SassySaturday and get connected with all of the lovely ladies over there!
